The right choice, when you request a part of a bent shape, is a Plexiglas, polycarbonate and PET-G. That is why these materials are used in the vast majority cases compared to ordinary glass. Creation of localized bends or bending the material fully is one of our daily activities.
We distinguish the bending types as following:
“Common” bending
When there is a request "to bend", then the bend is created by a local heating of the material and its breaking to the desired angle. Typical are applications, where there is no requirement for the size and shape of the bending (radius size). Thus, you can imagine most of bends, for example, at brochure holders, stands for printed matters, banners, fastened covers to steel contractures, various objects stands etc.
Bending “with arc”
As are gradually changing the shapes and curves of machines and design elements, there is growth in demand for shape complexity of bends. In "normal" bending is possible to create rounding up to the inner curvature of about R8. If the request is to create a larger arc, it is possible with the help of all surface heating and shaping by the element that imparts its shape and size of the arc. However, we are still talking about bending of the flat material with a bend of about R10 to R100 mm.
Annealing to the arch
To create from a flat piece of material of a certain bend size is possible only by heating the whole surface in an annealing furnace. This way are usually shaped arks like (hand)rails filling, tables jacketing, curved shelters etc.
Anneal to the arch we manage up to a maximum dimension of material, namely 3050x2050 mm.
